7. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

7.1 Defrosting the freezer

The freezer needs to be defrosted manually. You are advised to defrost it when the frost or ice on the

shelves is more than 2 cm thick (or once/twice per year). A few hours before defrosting, set the

thermostat to its coldest setting in order to further lower the temperature of the frozen foods. Then turn

off and unplug the freezer (or turn off the main switch). Open the door and remove the deep-frozen

products from the drawers, protecting them from defrosting during cleaning operations. Leave the

freezer door open to allow the frost to melt. Insert the drain (1) into the corresponding slot. Place a

container (2) (not supplied) under the drain to catch the water from the defrosting. Reconnect the plug

(or set the main switch to ON). Turn the freezer back on using the selector switch on the control panel.
